A. GENERAL

  1. The Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017 is organised by Flash Athletics Club (hereinafter the ‘Organisers’) in accordance with these Rules and Regulations.

  2. The Participant, who is a person who has entered to take part in the Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017, is deemed to have given written permission to the Organisers for the Organisers to collect, analyse and collate any personal information relating to the Participants, as the Organisers may in their sole discretion deem fit.

  3. The Participant confirms that all information in the registration form is to be true, accurate, current and complete. If the Participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or if the Organisers have grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Organisers may suspend or terminate the Participant’s registration.

  4. The Participant understands and agrees that to be eligible for the Top five (5) prizes, Participants are encouraged to run in ALL THREE (3) Grand Prix Runs. Points will be awarded for the top 20 (twenty) finishers for each Grand Prix Run. The points table is listed in the Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017 website at www.x-countrygrandprix.com.

  5. In the event of a tie in points, the winner will be decided by top finish positions the Participant had achieved in the previous runs. All decisions by the Organisers will be FINAL and no appeal will be entertained.

  6. The Organisers reserve the right to amend the Rules and Regulations without giving prior notification or any reasons thereof.

  7. The Organisers reserve the right to delay, cancel and/or postpone the Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017 at any time without prior notice to the Participant. In the event that the Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017 has to be cancelled or postponed, there shall be no refund of registration fees paid and the Organisers shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes, delay, cancellation and/or postponement.

  8. The Organisers reserve the right to amend the race routes as they deem fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the event, at any time without prior notice to the Participant. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participant prior to the date of the event. The Organisers shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.

  9. The Organisers reserve the right to set the fees for the different categories as expedient to its intents and purposes.

  10. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, there will be no refund of registration fees for incorrect entries, and Participants who wish to withdraw from or do not turn up for the Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017.

  11. The Organisers reserve the right to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other records of the Event for any legitimate purposes, including commercial advertising.

B. REGISTRATION

  1. The registration period for the Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017 shall commence from 19 May 2017 to 20 October 2017. The registration period may close at an earlier date or upon receipt of the registration of 1,500 participants, whichever is earlier, and at the sole discretion of the Organisers. The Organisers reserve the right to change the limit on the number of participants.

  2. Participants must be 16 years old and above as at 31 December 2017 to participate in the Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017.

  3. Participants in the various categories (detailed below) warrant that they fall within the age category as at 31 December 2017. S/No Category Age Group

    1. Junior 16 to 21 years old

    2. Men and Women Open

    3. Men and Women Veteran 50 years old and above

  4. Participants are required to register online and pay the registration fee within the registration period.

  5. 16. All participants below 18 years old are required to download, complete and submit the PARENTAL CONSENT AND INDEMNITY FORM to the Organisers as soon as practicable, in any event, no later than race day itself.  

  6. All registrations are subject to availability and accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. The Organiser reserves the right to limit and/or refuse registration without assigning any reason.

  7. Race entries are NOT TRANSFERABLE nor change of race categories allowed after registrations are confirmed.

C. RACE

  1. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race days at the Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017.

  2. Water points will be allotted at each race venues, and Participants are encouraged to stay hydrated at all times.

  3. While baggage deposit services will be provided on the race days, the Organisers will not be held responsible for any loss and/or damage, personal or otherwise, to the belongings and items deposited. The Organisers also reserves the right to check any item or baggage deposited. Participants are encouraged not to bring or wear any valuable items to the race venues during race days.

  4. 22. Only Participants wearing ASSIGNED NUMBER BIB will be allowed in the race courses. Participants are required to display their assigned number bib on his/her chest at all times during the race. Participants without the allocated bib number will not be allowed to take part in the race.

  5. Participants are only allowed to wear their own assigned number bib. Participants are NOT ALLOWED to change the assigned number bibs with anyone else, inter alia, other Participants. The Organisers reserves the rights to replace any winners if he/she is found to be disqualified.

  6. Participants are responsible for their fixed number bibs as each Participant is allocated a specific number bib for ALL THREE (3) RACES against his registration and race category. The Organisers reserve the right to charge for lost, misplaced or damaged number bibs by the Participants.

  7. No pets, or any form of wheel-run objects of transport e.g. inline skates, prams, push cars, shoes with built-in or attached rollers is allowed on the course during the race except official race and medical vehicles.

  8. For the safety reasons, Participants are advised to run on the designated route and observe traffic regulations and instructions of the route marshals. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

  9. The Organisers reserve the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable of continuing with the run to prevent him/her from causing greater harm and injury to himself/herself or other Participants.

  10. Whilst all reasonable precautions will be taken by the Organisers  to ensure the safety of Participants, Participants take part at their own risks and the Organisers, their sponsors and their appointed officials shall not be liable for any death or injury, loss or damage, suffered or otherwise, and howsoever arising.

  11. The Organisers decision on all matters relating to the Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017, inter alia, the selection of the winner(s) of the Flash-X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017 shall be FINAL AND BINDING on all Participants. In the event of any inconsistency between the Rules and Regulations herein and any brochure, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Flash X-Country Grand Prix Run 2017, the Rules and Regulations herein shall prevail, and no correspondence or disputes will be entertained.

  12. To the best knowledge of the Organisers, the information contained herein in this website is believed to be correct. The Organisers do not accept any responsibility for any actions taken on the basis of the information neither does it accept any liability for omission or errors of fact contained herein.
